The American Legion is a U.S. veterans association that was chartered by Congress in 1919. It is a patriotic organization dedicated to providing mutual helpfulness and support to veterans. The American Legion offers a range of programs and services to veterans and their families, including baseball, Boys State/Nation, Legion Riders, the National Convention, the National Emergency Fund, Operation Comfort Warriors, oratorical contests, scholarships, and various benefits and support services. Members of The American Legion can join or renew their membership, access member discounts, and manage their membership through MyLegion.org. The organization also has a media presence, with The American Legion Magazine, digital archives, e-newsletters, LegionTV/videos, and publications.
